Preproduction Plan

 1. Please write about what materials you feel you are going to need for your project (what you are using as a camera, props, costumes, etc.). Please be as detailed as possible with what materials/equipment you are planning on using and how you plan on getting them if you do not have them, provide pictures as well.

For our project we only have one actor, and we want them to look casual, so they will wear jeans, and a long-sleeved black shirt. Our actor will not be wearing any makeup and will have their hair pulled back in a down ponytail. Through the hair and costume, we will be trying to convey the emotional state of the main character. Then in a attempt to fill out the world we will be adding some props around the character. Such as putting a black envelope in the passenger seat of the car that had the word “condolences”. With this we are trying to give the effect that someone the main charter knew dies recently and they are currently at that person's house. Another prop is a key that doesn't even go into the door, so it seems like the character was goanna unlocked the door before realizing it was open. We will only use one camera due to lack of camera men, and because we wanted to keep the videos consistent. The flashlights will be for lighting and to make sure everything is fully viable since we will not be using any power in the house. One of the most important props we are going to use was the green screen that will make it seem like the front door leads to the hallway. We don’t have an actual green screen do the principle let us use a long strand of green constriction paper. We will take this to the door and hopefully it will have the same effect, if not we will have to change something's in the storyboard. Everything we will use in the making of this film will be to add more depth and make it look more professional, even with our limited budget

2. What locations are you planning on shooting your film at? Please be as detailed as possible and provide pictures of these locations.

The first and only location will be at my house, but we will be filming all around it, I have already discussed with my family that they need to be gone or keep quiet. First, we will shoot in the driveway inside of my car. Then we will move to the walkway before the door, this will be to show the hesitance of the character to go inside. It will also be used to show that the door has already been opened before the charter enters the house, this will give a sense of foreboding. After that we will quickly move though the side of the second living room to the hallway where most of the film will take place. We filmed the main character coming out of each of the doors in the hallway franticly. Another filming location was on the porch where we will shoot the main character having a mental breakdown. For the final scene we move back to the car to show the end of a call on the charactered phone that they left behind. We waited till it was dark outside, and also made fake rain by using the hose to make it seem like the passage of time. This will also show foreshadowing because it will leave the audience wondering what the call was about, how will the character get help if her phone is in the car. Me and my group have details thought through the locations we will use and the feeling we want to give the audience in those locations.

3. Please discuss what kind of storyboard you are planning on making for your project. Also, discuss what the benefits of having this storyboard will be for your project. Please include a picture of an initial storyboard of what your opening shot of your project will look like.

Me and my group are planning to create a step-by-step story board. This will portray the starting point for every scene we plan to make through a drawling. Then underneath the picture we will have a small description of what happened on the scene.

This is the First page of the storyboard; the arrows are showing the movement of the camera. All that happens in this sequence is we see how upset the character gets upset and their reluctance to get out of the car. As shown, the opening scene will be in front of the car and that is where we will show the title of the film.

This is the second part of our story board: it depicts the character's eternal struggle to enter the house. Then it shows how the door was already part way open, this is when the audience should feel scared or intrigued.

This page of the story board shows the character entering the house and the power not working so they go to leave, but that is when they keep coming back through a door in the hallway.

All the Final panel shows is that the door sequence will repeat, and the scene of the phone ringing in the car.

4. Lastly, please discuss what kind of person/power you feel you are going to need for your project. List the positions you will be responsible for (director, cinematographer, editor, etc.) and then what other roles you feel you need to cast or bring someone on for. If you have specific people in mind, list them by name.

Me and my teammate will all be the producers and directors; Adrianna Molina, Olivia Wymer, and Emna Houichi (me). Emna Houichi (me) wrote the original script for the film, Adrianna Molina revised the script by putting it in a different format, and Olivia Wymer provided her opinions of different scenes and stage directions. There will only be one actor in the film and that is Adrianna Molina. Adrianna Molina, Emna Houichi (me), Olivia Wymer was all responsible for cinematography both in planning and execution. Olivia Wymer is primarily responsible for adding outside sound into the film. The editing is being done by Adrianna Molina, Emna Houichi (me), we are doing all the color matching, video cutting, special effects, and sound manipulation that happened on screen ourselves. Adrianna Molina drew the storyboard herself, but we'll all collaborate on what the storyboard would consist of. I would take pictures of the set of scenes that she could use as a refence for the drawling. Both Olivia Wymer, Emna Houichi (me) operated the camera, and we were in charge of lighting while we filmed. Before my teammates arrived to film, I ensured the props were ready and the set was clean of people and objects, making me the Properties Master and Set Dresser.
